Enregistrée des dizaines de fois à ce jour, elle fut écrite (à l'origine pour guitare, contrebasse et percussions) consécutivement à une importante intervention chirurgicale que j'ai subie au début des années 80. En trois mouvements, elle retrace ainsi, de façon explicite, cet épisode si particulier de mon existence: le chaotique India d'abord (avant l'opération), puis le Largo (pendant), enfin le Fuoco final, véritable incarnation du retour à la vie avec ses éclats de rythmes (souvent joué, d'ailleurs, comme pièce à part entière par de nombreux guitaristes). Je me réjouis sincèrement du succès rencontré par la Libra Sonatine, triptyque aux accents familiers aux jeunes de notre siècle tout neuf, à la croisée des chemins et en pleine mutation. R.D.
